You will need:
- A digital stills camera or video camera that can take stills
- A tripod
- A computer
- Video software such as Windows Movie Maker or iMovie or Photostory
- An actor or actors
- A place to film with good lighting
Method
The aim of this simple exercise is to make it appear that a person is moving around the room without taking any steps.
- Set up the tripod and camera in a fixed position
- Have your actor stand in one part of the room with their feet together
- Take a shot
- Get your actor to move about a foot forward. Get them to stand with their feet together again and then take another photograph
- Repeat steps 2-4 until your actor has moved around the room. You will need at least 50 photos or more to get the effect.
- Upload your photographs
- Import the photos into an image editing software and play at 25 or 12 frames per second.
